About These Prayer Times
Salah — the five daily prayers (Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha) — is obligatory on every adult Muslim, commanded directly in the Quran: “Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times” (4:103). Each prayer has a defined window tied to the sun's position — Fajr before sunrise, Dhuhr after the sun passes its zenith, Asr in the afternoon, Maghrib just after sunset, and Isha once the evening twilight has faded — which is why the times shift slightly every day and vary by location.
Times on this page are calculated using the University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi method, the standard used across Pakistan, with Hanafi Asr timing (the Asr window starts slightly later under this method than the Shafi'i/Maliki/Hanbali calculation — a known, accepted difference between schools of thought, not an error). We calculate times algorithmically from your location; always confirm congregational (jama'ah) timing with your local mosque, since that can differ slightly from the calculated start time.
