Hajj Cost Estimator

Hajj is one of the Five Pillars of Islam, commanded in the Quran: "And [due] to Allah from the people is a pilgrimage to the House — for whoever is able to find thereto a way" (3:97). That last clause (istita'ah, "ability") is the key qualifier: it is obligatory once in a lifetime only on a Muslim who is physically capable and can afford it — including having enough left over to support their dependents while away and after returning — without going into debt to fund it. If you cannot genuinely afford it yet, Hajj is not currently obligatory on you; saving toward it, as this calculator helps with, is still praiseworthy.
