Popular claims to treat with caution
These are often repeated online, but they are weak, disputed, or we could not trace them to a reliable source. They are listed so you can recognise them, not as established virtue.
Az-Zilzal equals half of the Quran.
Recorded in Jami' at-Tirmidhi, who called it gharib. Scholars generally regard the chain as weak, so it is not presented as an established virtue.
How to read this page
We keep three things apart: what the Quran itself says, what is reported in hadith (with its collection and grading), and what is only popular practice. A virtue report describes a recommended deed and does not make it obligatory. For rulings or personal practice, ask a qualified scholar. Our approach is explained on the about page.
