Voluntary Sadaqah can be given at any time, any day. There is no restriction on when you can give charity.

The Prophet (PBUH) encouraged charity on Friday. Giving Sadaqah on Friday carries extra reward.

Charity given in Ramadan is rewarded immensely. The Prophet (PBUH) was the most generous in Ramadan.

Sadaqah al-Fitr (Fitrana) must be given before Eid prayer. It purifies the fasting person from shortcomings.

Giving Sadaqah during difficulties shows sincerity and can remove calamities. It is a means of protection.

Secret Sadaqah is best as it protects from showing off (Riya). The Prophet (PBUH) said it extinguishes Allah's anger.
