Qurbani Calculator

Qurbani (also called Udhiyah) is the ritual sacrifice of a permitted animal during Eid al-Adha, commemorating Prophet Ibrahim's (AS) willingness to sacrifice his son — a command Allah ultimately replaced with a ram (Quran 37:102-107). Its status differs by school: the Hanafi school (the majority position followed in Pakistan) holds it wajib — obligatory — on every eligible adult meeting the Nisab threshold, while the Shafi'i, Maliki, and Hanbali schools generally treat it as Sunnah Mu'akkadah, a strongly confirmed but not strictly obligatory practice. Both positions agree it carries major reward and should not be casually skipped by someone who can afford it.
